Grilled Sliced Steak and Portobello Mushroom Sandwiches
Ingredients
- Steak Ingredients
- 1 lbs Lean Steak (Fillet Mignon, Sirloin or Flank Steak)
- 4 Portobello Mushrooms
- 4 Whole Wheat Rolls
- Sauce Ingredients
- ½ cup Fat Free Mayonnaise
- 3 Tbsp Prepared Horseradish
- ½ Tsp Lemon Juice
- ½ Tsp Lemon Zest grated
- Extra Virgin Olive Oil (the fruitier the better)
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Sauce Directions
- Mix mayonnaise, horseradish, lemon, lemon zest, salt and pepper.
- Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
- Steak Directions (on grill)
- Sprinkle the meat and mushrooms with olive oil and salt and pepper
- Grill until the meat until Medium Rare and the mushrooms until tender
- After removing from the grill, cover with foil and let rest for 5 minutes for the juice to get reabsorbed.
- Slice the meat thinly against the grain
- Toast the rolls
- Sandwich Assembly
- Place a Mushroom on the roll
- Place 4 oz of meat on top of the mushroom
- Spread 1 Tbsp of sauce on the roll and cover
